Originally from a small town in Denmark, Kristian is now based in London, after studying bebop and contemporary jazz guitar at Royal Conservatorium in The Hague and at Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Dutch guitar masters Jesse van Ruller and Martijn van Iterson, and moving to London to complete his master’s degree in performance at Guildhall School of Music in 2006. Since Kristian’s arrival in London he has become a part of the flourishing and vibrant London jazz scene that has risen over the past decade.
A versatile musician, Kristian has performed throughout the UK and Europe with a diverse range of groups and performers, such as Italian pianist Antonio Zambrini, Pete Wareham,
Laurence Cottle, Tommaso Starace, Christine Tobin, The Puppini Sisters, Kenny Wheeler, Karen David, Will Winson, Tim Garland, Bobby Wellins, Bryan Abraham, Garreth Lockrane,
Quentin Collins, Jasper Høiby, Lars Dietrich and dutch jazzrock group Electric Barbarian. He performs regularly with his own Quartet and the trio Acrobat (with Pat Davey-drums, Will
Bartlett-organ) as well as with Italian alto saxophonist Tommaso Starace Quartet, jazz/folk diva Monika Lidke Quartet and tenor-saxophonist Jon Shenoy's Draw by Four.
